THE FARIDAH AWANG SCHOLARS PROGRAM, INC. ANNOUNCES 2021 MERIT SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WINNERS
RICHMOND, KENTUCKY, USA, August 31, 2021–The FAScholars, Inc. is honored to announce its scholarship award winners this year.
Winners are selected based on their commitment to improving their local community and using their unique talents to nurture efforts to address a specific, pressing need they see. They are chosen regardless of their colors, creeds, or cultures. Scholarship applications were received from Jammu and Kashmir, India, Malaysia, and the United States. “The quality of the applications we received has been incredible.” Dr. Faridah Awang, CEO, and President of the FAScholars, Inc., said. “We are pleased to award these scholarships to the following students to support their pursuit of education and exploration of career paths. This prestigious group of young leaders shares a unified goal of making a positive impact in the greater community and world.” Applicants went through rigorous qualification stages where statements on goals and aspirations were evaluated. Online interviews with the Board members were required for the shortlisted applicants.

This year’s recipients of the FAScholars Program, Inc. were selected in honor of Dr. Marcia A. Anderson and Madam Wook Ismail. Upon receiving the news, Molen said, “It is an honor to be selected as the Marcia A. Anderson Merit Scholarship recipient. I am grateful to be chosen for an award that represents her characteristics and values. As someone who values furthering my education, this scholarship is beneficial to accomplish my future academic goals!” Molen is the first recipient of the Marcia A. Anderson Merit Scholarship award from FAScholars, Inc.
An accounting major from the Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, Nur Aunil Athirah Adnan, and a double-major in Marketing and Finance from Eastern Kentucky University, USA, won the Wook Ismail Merit Scholarship awards. Adnan thanked the FAScholars, Inc. for “honoring me with this scholarship. This scholarship will relieve my family’s financial constraints and help me to achieve my educational dreams.” While Barnes “honored to be a recipient of a program that values hard work and a willful determination. The help I am receiving with this scholarship allows me to graduate early and jumpstart my career even further.” Both winners are the first recipients of the Wook Ismail Merit Scholarship award from FAScholars, Inc.
The FAScholars, Inc. supports merit- and need-based scholars. A FAScholar must demonstrate a positive engagement in community service, exhibit strong leadership qualities, be active in extracurricular activities, and show academic strength.
